Cambodian and Thai officials were in their third day of talks at a border checkpoint on Friday, with defence ministers from both countries scheduled to meet on Saturday. 

The 72-hour cease-fire could pave the way for an end to the fighting, which has killed dozens and displaced thousands over nearly three weeks.

Almost one million people were displaced when hostilities resumed earlier this month after the first truce broke.
