Chelsea have new owners after Todd Boehly sold his stake to Clearlake Capital and stepped down as chairman. The change brings an end to Boehly’s four-year tenure, while Clearlake now assumes full control of the Premier League club.

Private equity company Clearlake had previously owned 61.5% of the club.

Clearlake Capital has assumed full control of the club after co-controlling owners Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano bought out the combined 25.6 per cent stakes previously held by Boehly and Walter.
