Four devotees were killed and some others were injured in a stampede at three places during the sale of Tirumala temple darshan tickets in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati on Wednesday night.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday visited the stampede spot in Tirupati that claimed the lives of six devotees and pulled up officials for failing to make proper arrangements for the distribution of tokens for an annual event at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple.

YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said the Tirupati stampede incident thoroughly exposed serious lapses in administration and crowd management by the TTD and also the police.
