US Justice Department officials denied redacting the Epstein files to protect President Donald Trump as criticism mounted over the partial and heavily censored release of documents.

NEW YORK >> A photo of ​President Donald Trump ‌that had been removed from the cache ‌of Jeffrey Epstein files released by the Department of Justice was restored on Sunday after officials determined none of Epstein’s victims were in the image, the department said.

<p><strong>Epstein Files:</strong> The DOJ had temporarily removed the image for review after the Southern District of New York flagged it to protect victims. In a press release, the Department stated that it is committed to transparency and redacting only what is legally required. </p>
