The incident occurred shortly after the magistrate granted bail to Mr Sowore and 12 others arrested over Monday’s #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja.

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the AAC in the 2023 election, has been rearrested after stepping out of the court where he was earlier granted bail.

Sowore, along with Prince Emmanuel Kanu — brother of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu — a former member of Kanu’s legal team, Aloy Ejimakor, and 10 others, had earlier been granted bail after meeting all requirements set by the court.
