In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Nneamaka Okafor, Senator Lokpobiri described the news as a profound loss to Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta region, and the nation.

Announcing the decision in a press statement on Friday, the state Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Mrs. Ebiowou Koku-Obiyai, described his passing as painful.

PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Mr Ewhrudjakpo slumped on Thursday afternoon while he was working in his office, and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
