With the High Court stepping aside and the Chief Judge invoking judicial restraint, the impeachment push now waits on the Court of Appeal—leaving Rivers State’s political crisis suspended, but far from resolved.

In a ruling delivered by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, the court based its decision on the notice of appeal brought to its attention by a faction of the party led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Kabiru Turaki.
