The English Football Association (FA) plans to formally withdraw its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, dealing him a major blow just days after he dropped his bid to sell some of his equity to private investors.

The Professional Footballers Association of Ireland believes that the FAI will follow suit with the English and Welsh football associations by formally withdrawing their support for Gianni Infantino.

Wales became the first nation to publicly withdraw its backing for Infantino on Monday, days after the FIFA president announced that the investment proposal had been shelved following widespread opposition.
