Israeli strikes hit multiple areas of Gaza despite a US-brokered truce, as the military says fire was launched after one of its officers was seriously wounded.

“Where is the ceasefire? Where are the mediators?” said Dr. Mohamed Abu Selmiya, director of Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, in a Facebook post.

At least 556 people have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect on 10 October.
