Israel has announced that it had received hostage remains found in Gaza from the Red Cross, which were being transported to the morgue for identification.

Egypt denies it is co-ordinating with Israel to reopen the crossing, insisting that passage should be in both directions.

A statement cited by the State Information Service (SIS) said that if an agreement is reached to open Rafah, the crossing will operate in both directions, for entry and exit, in line with US President Donald Trump’s plan.
