Opposition MPs boycott Waqf Bill meeting, alleging committee not following rules; may approach Lok Sabha Speaker.

The Opposition MPs have boycotted the Joint Parliamentary meeting to discuss the Waqf amendment bill and wrote to the Speaker demanding that the Committee chairman be removed.

The Opposition accused the BJP MPs of using offensive language against them and walked out of the meeting for the second consecutive day.  

Opposition MPs staged a boycott of the parliamentary committee meeting on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, citing procedural violations and unwarranted personal allegations.

However, BJP members claimed that the opposition members were abusing the chairman of the committee Jagadambika Pal.

This is the second consecutive day when opposition members have walked out of the meeting following differences.

The Opposition MPs demanded the removal of the chairperson of the committee, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jagdambika Pal, who overruled their objections on many occasions during the meetings and allowed the deposition to continue.
