Counter-terrorism police are now leading the investigation into the death of veteran British politician Ann Widdecombe.

July 13 (UPI) -- British officials said the suspect in the death of former lawmaker Ann Widdecombe was not known to anti-terrorism agents as the counter-terrorism police took over the investigation Monday.

Police said a 28-year-old man has been rearrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Police previously said there was no information to suggest an attack on the former Conservative minister was politically motivated.
