The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the country’s biggest funder of public media, voted to shut itself down ahead of the Trump administration’s planned shutdown of the organization.

Its funding was eliminated by congressional Republicans, ending 58 years of support for public broadcasting in the U.S.
