The Justice Department will not release all of its files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and convicted sex offender who died in prison, by its congressionally mandated deadline of Friday, Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general, said.

Dec. 19 (UPI) -- House Democrats said they're looking into legal options after U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Justice Department would release some but not all of the files related to its investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday, missing a congressional deadline.

The release included photographs, call logs, grand jury testimony and some documents and records that have already been in the public domain.

This follows political pressure and a reversal by Trump. Concerns exist about potential redactions and obstruction of justice. Democrats have already released some images from Epstein's estate, increasing scrutiny.
