BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept 26 : George Russell closed the gap to championship-leading Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli at the top of the Formula One standings after fending off Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to complete a lights-to-flag win in ‌Saturday’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with the Italian fifth.Russell too

Championship leader Kimi Antonelli, who started from 16th, climbed through the field to finish fifth.

Verstappen says the true margin was a full second and adds that victory would have been difficult even without the engine problem in qualifying. For one of the first times this year, however, the Red Bull driver did enjoy the racing

George Russell claimed a dominant Azerbaijan GP victory, holding off Max Verstappen after late pressure to secure Mercedes’ third win of the season. Isack Hadjar finished third, while Kimi Antonelli recovered to fifth after starting 16th.
