After the Confederation of African Football stripped Senegal of its title in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final on Tuesday, Dakar has taken its protest a step further: it accused the CAF of corruption and called for an international investigation on Wednesday.

The Confederation of African Football released a dramatic statement last night.

The Rabat Court of Appeals has postponed the appeal trial of 18 Senegalese fans conviceted of hooliganism during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final. Originally scheduled for Monday, the hearing has been pushed back to 30 March.

Mr Motsepe acknowledged that lingering “suspicion and distrust” remain a challenge for CAF, describing it as a “legacy issue” that the organisation continues to address.
