Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon kill five, despite a newly brokered ceasefire with Hezbollah, reports state media.

The IDF said it struck "Hezbollah terrorist targets" after the group fired over 50 projectiles at Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

Reports said that Israeli warplanes and drones carried out overnight strikes across the Nabatieh region, destroying residential buildings and homes. Artillery shelling also targeted Nabatieh and surrounding areas before dawn.

It came after a heavy exchange of fire killed 47 people in Lebanon and four Israeli soldiers.
