Lokhande Prashant Sitaram appointed new CBSE chairman amid OSM row
The central government has transferred the Chairperson and Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education amid controversy over the on-screen marking contract. A new Chairman has been appointed, and a one-member panel will investigate the contract awarded to a company previously blacklisted in Telangana. The panel will submit its report within a month. The intervention follows directives from the Prime Minister to replace the top officials immediately. Meanwhile, the Opposition has demanded the removal of the Education Minister. The ongoing scrutiny is largely driven by over eighteen and a half lakh students who raised concerns about the bending of tender norms.
