Congress candidate for Nandigram assembly bypoll, Milan Pradhan, was arrested on Friday, September 18, in an old case.

The arrest came shortly after Banerjee said her camp would not field another candidate from Nandigram following the withdrawal of Sanchita Pradhan De, the nominee of the Mamata-led Trinamool faction.

The arrest came shortly after Banerjee announced at a press conference at her Kalighat residence that her faction would back Pradhan in Nandigram.
