A major accident occurred at the SLBC tunnel construction site when the roof collapsed over a three-meter stretch at the 14th kilometer of the left-side tunnel.

The accident occurred due to the slippage of a concrete segment that was used to seal seepage at the 14-km inlet of the tunnel in Telangana's Nagarkurnool district.

The incident took place as they were engaged in routine operations within the irrigation project of Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel in Telangana.

Telangana government works to rescue trapped workers in collapsed tunnel, seeking help from experts and NDRF teams.

Shedding more light on the SLBC tunnel roof collapse, state Uttam Kumar informed the trapped workers were from Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

The accident occurred due to the slippage of a concrete segment that was used to seal seepage at the 14-km inlet of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal tunnel, which runs from Srisailam towards Devarakonda.
