The Congress on Thursday formally announced Satheesan as the chief ministerial pick following the United Democratic Front's emphatic victory in the Kerala Assembly elections. He will take oath as the Kerala CM on May 18.

The national leadership will invite leaders from other states for the ceremony, Satheesan told reporters after visiting the house of former Chief Minister late Oommen Chandy here on Thursday.
