Seven people were killed after a fire broke out at a house in Madhya Pradesh's Indore city early on Wednesday, March 18 police said.

A short circuit led to an explosion at the EV charging point, setting the vehicle on fire. The fire quickly escalated as it reached a stockpile of over a dozen LPG cylinders stored inside the house.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex gratia of Rs two lakhs for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for all the injured.
