Bangladesh's Humaiun Kobir said Tarique Rahman's India visit will take place only when both sides agree on a conducive timeframe. His remarks came as Dhaka spoke of resetting ties with New Delhi while officials on both sides continued bilateral engagement.

The bilateral with India is unlikely to happen before his trip to New York on 21st September for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

India invited Bangladesh PM Tarique Rahman for a bilateral visit and the BRICS Summit, with both invitations sent separately.

The exchange comes as ties between India and Bangladesh remain strained following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina as Prime Minister in August 2024.
