The children reportedly entered Neredu Cheruvu lake in Telangana's Sangareddy district as part of the immersion ritual and are suspected to have drowned. None of them knew how to swim. 

Eight boys staying at a hostel run by a charitable trust at Pedda Kanjarla village, fell into the lake during the immersion, police said.
