Former Assam Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah will join the BJP on February 22, ending speculation about his political future.

Former Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah will join the BJP on Feb 22, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday after meeting him.

Senior Assam leader Bhupen Borah, who has quit the Congress, will stand by his decision and will join the BJP on February 22, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed a meeting with resigned Assam Congress Chief Bhupen Borah tonight. Borah is set to join BJP on Feb 22 with a safe seat promise after clashing with Gaurav Gogoi and Rakibul Hussain.
