As he turns 30, Anant takes on a pivotal role in the Reliance group and aims to be a net-zero carbon company by 2035. However, the youngest son has now received bigger responsibility in the company.
As per reports, Anant Ambani is now a 'whole-time director' at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). The decision comes after the announcement of the company's quarterly report.
Anant Ambai served as a non-executive director for the RIL, now he has received a new role. On April 25, 2025, the company's quarterly reports were announced, along with the decision to appoint Anant as a 'whole-time director' for a five-year term, which will begin on May 1, 2025.
However, Anant Ambani's appointment as whole-time director, pending shareholder approval, marks a significant step in Reliance Industries' leadership succession, solidifying its next-gen leadership.
The board approved Anant Ambani's appointment based on the HR, Nomination and Remuneration Committee's recommendation, further cementing the Ambani family's involvement in Reliance Industries' leadership.
Anant Ambani's new role makes him one of the youngest whole-time directors, joining his siblings in key leadership positions: Akash Ambani chairs Reliance Jio Infocomm, while Isha Ambani Piramal leads Reliance Retail as executive director.
However, Ambani’s kids wouldn't get a fixed salary unlike other directors. However, Anant would earn through his sitting fee, a commission on the profit earned Reliance and potential reimbursements for business-related expenses. In 2024, as per reports by Time Of India, Anant’s earnings package reached approximately Rs. 4.2 crore per annum.
