Actors Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth got married in a heartfelt ceremony held at a historic 400-year-old temple in Wanaparthy, Telangana, a place deeply significant to Aditi’s family. While their traditional and intimate wedding was a highlight, what truly captured fans' attention was the simplicity and meaningful thought behind it.
Aditi Rao Hydari, while speaking on Day 3 of Sahitya AajTak 2024 at her session Heeramandi Ke Sitare, shared that an intimate wedding surrounded by people who blessed the couple, was something the two always wished for.
“I didn’t plan much because this was something I truly wanted to do. The temple where we got married has been in my family for 400 years, built by my ancestors. It holds a special place for my family, and since I am very close to my nana and nani, getting married there felt like being closer to them. Their blessings mean everything to me. It was just the family, cousins, and of course, Sid and me—the most important people.”
She added, “Honestly, we had not thought this much. But now, the way people are speaking, it seems that it was thought out. But it was something we did from our heart. We were just like two kids in love and doing what we wanted to do around people who truly blessed us from their hearts.
Earlier this year, Siddharth proposed to Aditi Rao Hydari at her favourite place. Recalling the proposal, the Kaatru Veliyidai actor told Vogue India, "I was closest to my nani, who passed away a few years ago. She started a school in Hyderabad. One day, Siddharth asked me if he could see it, knowing full well how close I had been to her."
"He got down on his knees and I asked him, "Now what have you lost? Whose shoelaces are open?’ He kept saying, ‘Addu, listen to me’. And then he proposed. He said he wanted to bring me to my favourite childhood place, one with my grandmother’s blessings," she explained.
For her wedding, Aditi wore a handwoven Maheshwari tissue lehenga paired with a Benarasi tissue dupatta, while Siddharth matched Aditi’s elegance in a classic white silk kurta with a traditional dhoti and veshti.
