  • NSE IPO likely to open on September 18
  • IPO may raise nearly Rs 30,000 crore
  • No fresh shares; only offer for sale

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is likely to launch its much-awaited initial public offering (IPO) on September 18, with the shares expected to be listed on September 25, sources said on Tuesday.

The IPO could raise nearly Rs 30,000 crore, potentially making it the largest IPO in India.

NSE IPO PRICE BAND LIKELY ON SEPTEMBER 15

According to sources, the price band for the IPO is likely to be announced on September 15. This will be followed by the anchor book opening on September 17.

The public issue is expected to remain open for subscription on September 18, September 21 and September 22.

However, there has been no official announcement from the NSE on the IPO calendar so far.

The NSE issue, which could raise around Rs 30,000 crore, is set to overtake Hyundai Motor India's Rs 27,870-crore IPO launched in 2024.

If the issue size reaches around Rs 30,000 crore, it will become India's largest IPO.

NO FRESH SHARES TO BE ISSUED

The NSE IPO will be entirely an offer for sale (OFS). Up to 148.9 million equity shares, with a face value of Rs 1 each, are likely to be offered to the public.

The shares on offer represent nearly 6% of NSE's paid-up equity capital.

Since there will be no fresh issue of shares, the NSE itself will not receive any money from the IPO.

Meanwhile, Bank of Baroda is likely to sell 35% of its holding in NSE through the IPO, according to reports.

The state-owned bank is expected to sell 76,90,375 shares as part of the offer for sale.
