Maruti Suzuki records highest-ever monthly sales volume in April 2026

Maruti Suzuki India Limited recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in April 2026 at 2,39,646 units, driven by strong domestic passenger vehicle demand, rising SUV sales and robust export growth.

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has reported its highest-ever monthly sales performance in April 2026, driven by strong domestic demand across passenger vehicle and utility vehicle segments along with robust export growth.

The company sold a total of 2,39,646 units in April 2026, registering a sharp increase over 1,79,791 units sold in April 2025. Domestic sales also touched an all-time high of 1,91,122 units during the month. Exports stood at 40,054 units, while sales to other OEMs contributed 8,470 units.

Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market rose significantly to 1,87,704 units in April 2026, compared to 1,38,704 units in the corresponding month last year. The company’s utility vehicle portfolio remained a major growth driver, with sales increasing to 77,892 units from 59,022 units a year ago. The segment includes models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny and Victoris.

The compact and mid-size passenger car segment also posted strong gains. Sales of models including the Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR rose to 80,659 units in April 2026 from 61,912 units in April 2025. Meanwhile, entry-level models Alto and S-Presso recorded sales of 16,066 units, sharply higher than 6,332 units sold in the same period last year.

Van sales, led by the Eeco, increased to 13,087 units from 11,438 units a year earlier. Sales of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle stood at 3,418 units, marginally higher than 3,349 units recorded in April 2025.

Maruti Suzuki’s exports also witnessed strong momentum, rising to 40,054 units in April 2026 compared to 27,911 units in the year-ago period. Total domestic sales, including passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles and OEM supplies, reached 1,99,592 units during the month, up from 1,51,880 units last year.
