IMD predicts temperature to rise above 40 degrees Celsius from March 12
by Swati · KalingaTVBhubaneswar: The IMD predicted that the temperature is likely to cross 40 degrees Celsius after March 12. The night temperature will also rise more than 40 degrees between March 12 and 16.
Parts of coastal Odisha are likely to witness the temperature rise above 40 degrees Celsius. The Kala Baisakhi monsoon is likely to hit coastal Odisha and the neighbouring districts between March 15 and 18 informed Dr. Sarat Chandra Sahu of IMD.
The weathermen forecasted that one or two places of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar district may witness rains as an impact of Kala Baisakhi. As a result of the dry and cold winds flowing into the state from Himalayas, the night temperature remained under control for the last three days.
The maximum temperatures at several cities in Odisha on Saturday is as follows:
- Boudh at 38 degrees Celsius
- Balangir at 37.5 degrees Celsius
- Sundargarh 37.1 degrees Celsius
- Sambalpur and Parlakhemundi at 36.9 degrees Celsius
- Jharsuguda at 36.8 degrees Celsius
- Sonepur at 36.7 degrees Celsius
- Titlagarh at 36.5 degrees Celsius
- Bhawanipatna at 36 degrees Celsius
On Friday the night temperature at Phulbani was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda 12.2 degrees Celsius, Rourkela 12.5 degrees Celsius, Bhawanipatna 13 degrees Celsius and Nabarangpur at 14 degrees Celsius.
