Cold wave alert in Odisha: IMD issues yellow warning for three districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that cold wave conditions will continue to grip Odisha for another week. IMD has issued a yellow warning for three Odisha districts for over the next two days on December 13 and December 14. The cold wave alert has been issued for three districts of Angul, Jharsuguda and Kalahandi.
Meanwhile, the Sundergarh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts will witness light to moderate fog in the morning hours till December 14. Residents of these districts are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe during this period.
Due to the cold wave, the night temperature has plummeted across the state. Today, the minimum temperature in G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district is recorded at 3.1°C, in Phulbani 5.5 degrees, and in Daringbadi 6.5 degrees.

Meanwhile, the night temperature has slightly increased in Bhubaneswar with mercury at 12.6°C. Other districts experiencing low temperatures include Jharsuguda and Rourkela, with minimum temperatures of 7.1°C and 7.2°C, respectively.
The bitter cold will continue in the state for the next 6 to 7 days. The highest temperature during the day is predicted to reach 29 degrees and the lowest night temperature is 12 degrees.
