Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd is taking big strides in the country to stay relevant and expand their portfolio further. In that direction, we saw Nissan re-entering Mid-Size C Segment SUV space with Tekton and is now stepping towards a larger 7-seater SUV. Testing for this upcoming 7-seater flagship SUV (for India) has commenced and latest spy shots reveal more details.

Nissan will try appealing both enthusiasts and mass market audience alike as the formula of a 7-seater SUV works well in Indian market. Latest spy shots from automotive enthusiast Nishanth show a better look at this upcoming 7-seater three row SUV with seating for up to 7.

Nissan Tekton 7S With Larger Tyres

What is immediately noticeable is the large 18-inch alloy wheels that look slightly different to those of Tekton’s. However, bigger SUV is also packing bigger tyres as well. 225-section width is the same, but they have 60 profile now, instead of the 225/55 which is seen on the existing 5 seater Tekton.

Other notable elements seen in these spy shots include the new silhouette where the 2,657 mm long wheelbase seems to be carried forward. Rear overhang has been stretched where Nissan will accommodate a third row of seating. We wish there is a 5-seater version of this SUV too, because rear seat space was one criticism Tekton faced.

Revised Design

We can also see a slightly revised fascia with redesigned bumpers with vertical slits in them which look like they’re converging on the bottom. Headlights along with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs are likely to be retained. However, bumper is new and it seems to be housing two millimeter wave radars for a more comprehensive ADAS suite than Tekton.

At the rear, we can see an all new connected tail light signature which looks vastly different than Tekton’s. Attributes like panoramic sunroof, Google built-in infotainment screen, 10.25-inch TFT cluster, auto AC, rear AC vents, front ventilated seats and others will continue. We can expect rear ventilated seats, sun shades, rear wireless charging pad and other features added with the 7-seater version.

Same Powertrains? Hybrid?

Powering this upcoming Nissan Tekton 7S is likely to be the 1.3L Turbo Petrol engine with 163 bhp and 280 Nm, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed wet DCT gearbox options. Chances of AWD setup or even a strong Hybrid engine (Duster’s 1.8L Hybrid Engine) are meek, but we are hopeful. A launch timeline is yet to be revealed by the company and one can expect it to happen in 2027.

After launching the Tekton in India, Nissan is yet to see a drastic jump in sales charts and boost its market share in Mid Size C Segment SUV space. Parallelly, Nissan is also working on launching a 7-seater version of Tekton with more space and road presence, which will take on the likes of Hyundai Alcazar.
