Mahindra closed December 2025 with a strong performance in the domestic market, driven primarily by sustained demand for its SUV portfolio and steady momentum in commercial vehicles and three-wheelers. The company also capped the calendar year on a positive note, reporting healthy year-to-date growth across most key segments.

Passenger vehicles lead December growth

Mahindra’s passenger vehicle sales stood at 50,946 units in December 2025, marking a 23% year-on-year growth compared to 41,424 units sold in December 2024. Utility vehicles continued to be the sole contributor in this category, underlining Mahindra’s dominance in the SUV space.

Mahindra SUV Sales Dec 2025

For the year-to-date (YTD) period ending December 2025, passenger vehicle volumes reached 4,76,476 units, up from 4,02,360 units in the same period last year, translating into a solid 18% growth. Strong demand for models such as Scorpio-N, Thar, XUV700 and Bolero range has continued to anchor Mahindra’s passenger vehicle performance. With the launch of the XUV7XO in a few days, Mahindra can expect sales boost in coming months.

Commercial vehicles and three-wheelers show mixed trend

In the commercial vehicle segment, LCVs below 2 tonnes recorded 2,720 units in December 2025, registering a 13% YoY growth. However, on a YTD basis, volumes declined by 4% to 27,416 units, indicating some moderation in demand in the entry-level CV space.

The LCV 2-tonne to 3.5-tonne segment posted a strong showing, with 22,066 units sold in December, a sharp 37% YoY growth. YTD sales for this category rose to 1,85,012 units, up 16% over the previous year, supported by improving freight movement and last-mile logistics demand.

Three-wheeler sales, including electric models, stood at 7,538 units in December 2025, growing 31% YoY. On a YTD basis, Mahindra sold 82,446 three-wheelers, a robust 28% increase, reflecting rising adoption of electric three-wheelers and recovery in urban and semi-urban mobility.

Export performance

Mahindra’s exports for December 2025 stood at 2,820 units, down 9% YoY compared to December 2024. Despite the monthly dip, YTD exports rose sharply by 25% to 30,061 units, highlighting improved overseas demand over the course of the year.

Mahindra’s December 2025 performance highlights the company’s continued strength in the SUV segment, which remains the backbone of its passenger vehicle business. While exports and select CV sub-segments showed short-term fluctuations, the strong YTD growth across passenger vehicles, higher-capacity LCVs and three-wheelers positions Mahindra well as it enters 2026 with a healthy order book and sustained market momentum.
