Tata Sales Breakup May 2026 – Punch, Nexon, Sierra, Tiago, Altroz, Harrier, Safari

The growth was largely driven by continued demand for Punch and Nexon, while the newly launched Sierra emerged as the company’s third best-selling model.
Tata Car Sales Breakup May 2026
Punch continued to lead Tata’s portfolio with sales of 20,208 units, registering a 53.87% YoY growth over 13,133 units sold in May 2025. The model accounted for 34.2% of Tata’s total sales during the month. Close behind was Nexon, which recorded sales of 19,100 units, up 45.85% from 13,096 units a year ago. Together, Punch and Nexon contributed over 66% of Tata’s total passenger vehicle volumes.
The biggest addition to Tata’s lineup this year has been Sierra. Launched earlier in 2026, Sierra recorded sales of 6,606 units in May and contributed 11.18% to the company’s overall volumes. Interestingly, Sierra sales have averaged about 7k units per month, since deliveries started in Jan this year.
Harrier also delivered impressive gains. Including the newly launched Harrier EV, sales stood at 2,815 units, more than tripling from 894 units sold in May 2025. This translated into a 214.88% YoY growth, making it the fastest-growing model in Tata’s portfolio among established nameplates.
Hatchbacks Continue To Face Pressure
While Tata’s SUV lineup performed strongly, hatchbacks remained under pressure. Tiago and Tiago EV combined sales declined 34.79% to 4,178 units from 6,407 units a year ago. This is likely to change in coming months as Tata has recently updated Tiago range. Altroz was among the few non-SUV models to post growth, rising 4.89% YoY to 2,915 units. The premium hatchback continues to maintain a steady presence in its segment despite increasing competition.
Curvv and Curvv EV sales stood at 1,680 units, down 45.15% from 3,063 units sold a year ago. Safari also witnessed a marginal decline of 4.69% to 1,057 units. Tigor and Tigor EV volumes fell sharply by 50.65% to 531 units.
MoM Performance
Compared to April 2026, Tata’s overall sales remained almost flat at 59,090 units versus 59,000 units, registering marginal growth of 0.15%. Punch and Nexon continued to gain momentum on a monthly basis, rising 5.76% and 5.37%, respectively.
Altroz posted a healthy 12.72% MoM increase, while Harrier gained 10.61%. Curvv also improved 19.74% over April volumes. On the other hand, Sierra saw a 9.7% decline from 7,316 units sold in April, while Tiago volumes dropped 23.87%. Safari and Tigor also recorded notable month-on-month declines.
