Japan's Itochu posts 14% rise in half-year net profit

TOKYO :Japanese trading house Itochu posted on Wednesday a 500.3 billion yen ($3.32 billion) net profit in the six months ended September, up 14 per cent from the same period a year ago.
Itochu, active in everything from commodities trading to food businesses, kept its net profit forecast for the full fiscal year unchanged at 900 billion yen. Last fiscal year, Itochu posted a net profit of 880.3 billion yen.
