Telangana inks pact with Skyroot to launch India’s first integrated rocket facility with ₹500 crore investment
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Telangana government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Skyroot Aerospace, a Hyderabad-based company specialising in space technology. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu oversaw the signing of the MoU at the Telangana pavilion at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual conference 2025 on Tuesday.
The agreement envisages Skyroot establishing an integrated private rocket manufacturing, integration, and testing facility in Telangana. This facility is expected to be one of the largest of its kind in the private sector, with Skyroot investing around ₹500 crore in the project.
Chief Minister Reddy welcomed Skyroot’s decision to invest in Telangana, stating, “I am delighted to see a Hyderabad-based company achieving great success. This agreement demonstrates how young minds in Telangana are working on cutting-edge technologies.” Mr. Reddy emphasised that the partnership with Skyroot highlights Telangana’s strategic focus on the space and aerospace sectors, with plans to make Hyderabad a hub for private sector space work.
Pawan Kumar Chandana, co-founder of Skyroot, said, “We want to be part of the Telangana Rising and Hyderabad Rising vision and mission.”
