Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 136.35 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 2,310 cusecs and a discharge of 2,117 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 59.02 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 1,662 cusecs and a discharge of 969 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 8,641.23 mcft. Mullaperiyar dam recorded a rainfall of 2.4 mm, Thekkadi 1.4 mm and Uthamapalayam 0.8 mm in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
