As for the original Nintendo Switch, Nintendo states that demand for the console has continued despite the release of the Switch 2. Those playing at home will know that the original Switch is extremely close to overtaking the Nintendo DS in lifetime sales. At the time of writing, Nintendo Switch stands at 153.1 million units while the Nintendo DS has 154.02 million units.

On the software side, Nintendo revealed that Mario Kart World sold 5.63 million units in the quarter. This is almost a one-to-one attachment rate for the game and console. The company also notes that the software sales for the Switch 2 exceeded 8 million units, thanks in part to the Mario Kart World bundle.
