We’ve seen the global economy have a tangible impact on the tech and games industry, and Nintendo’s Canadian business is the latest to be affected. The company has announced plans to alter prices on models of the Switch, though fans can breathe a sigh of relief as these changes won’t come to the Switch 2.

Nintendo of Canada published a press release to notify fans about the upcoming price changes in the country. These changes will impact the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Switch OLED consoles. These price changes will also come to physical games, digital games, Amiibo, and online memberships.

Nintendo chalks the impending price changes to “market conditions.” Following the reveal of the Switch 2 in April, Nintendo delayed the start of pre-orders in various territories so that it could assess the state of the global economy with tariffs looming.

Nintendo isn’t ready to specify the new prices for the Switch 1 and its games, but those new prices will be reflected in Canadian stores as of August 1.
