Status Orange rain warning for three counties ends

A Status Orange rain warning that was in effect for three counties overnight with flooding possible and "damage to homes and businesses likely" has now ended.

The warning, for Donegal, Galway and Mayo, ended shortly after 6am this morning.

A Status Yellow rain warning remains in place for Galway and Clare until 8am.

A separate rain warning will come into effect for Cork and Kerry later this morning.

The Status Yellow alert will come into effect at 9am and remain in place until 9pm tomorrow night.

Met Éireann said there will be a spell of persistent rain, turning heavy at times.

Potential impacts include localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and outdoor events impacted.
