NatWest is issuing a free £180 switch off to customers who change their bank account before Christmas. The high street banking giant says customers can earn £4 a month in Rewards for 2 or more direct debits of at least £2 and earn £1 a month in Rewards just by logging into the bank's mobile app too.

The provider is offering £180 to those who switch to an eligible NatWest Reward account. This includes its NatWest Reward account, which can be upgraded to Reward Silver, Reward Platinum and the Premier Reward account, which can be upgraded to a Premier Reward Black account. To qualify, customers must hold an eligible NatWest Reward account and switch from an account with another provider using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS).

Customers can aslo earn from 1% back in Rewards when you spend at the bank's partner retailers and earn Rewards as cash back into your account or e-gift codes with the bank's retail partners. Customers must be aged 18 or older, a UK resident, and pay in £1,250 to an eligible NatWest account every month.

"Apply online or via our mobile app to open a new Reward account and switch your current account held elsewhere using the Current Account Switch Service. This means your old bank account will close and any funds and Direct Debits will move over to us," NatWest said.

"If you're an existing customer, you can switch your account held elsewhere in to an existing eligible Reward account, or switch in and upgrade an existing account to one of our Reward accounts." It said: "To be eligible for the offer, within 60 days of completing the switch, you must have an eligible Reward account and pay in £1,250.

"This can be made of multiple payments and must remain in the account for 24 hours. Log in to our mobile app. If you already have the app, you’ll need to be on the latest version. When you've met these conditions, we'll pay £180 into your eligible account within 7 days."
