Pope Francis's open coffin began its procession to Saint Peter's Basilica, accompanied by dozens of red-robed cardinals and Swiss Guards.

The body of Pope Francis was moved on Wednesday morning to St. Peter’s Basilica for three days of public mourning for an Argentine pontiff remembered for his humble style, concern for the poor and insistent prayers for peace.

Crowds flocked to pay their respects and bid farewell to the pontiff, who died on Monday at the age of 88.
