The CBI has registered a fresh case of corruption against former finance minister P Chidambaram's son and Congress MP, Karti Chidambaram, for allegedly giving relief to alcoholic beverage company Diageo Scotland over a ban on the duty-free sale.

Karti Chidambaram, has been made co-accused with Vasan Health Care, British multinational alcoholic beverage company Diageo Scotland, and Sequoia Capital.

The case involves allegations of suspicious payments made by Diageo Scotland and Sequoia Capital to Advantage Strategic Consulting Pvt. Ltd., linked to lifting a duty-free liquor ban. The probe centers on consultancy fees amounting to USD 15,000, sparking serious allegations of corruption.
