FromSoftware says they’re not moving away from single-player games
· My Nintendo NewsFromSoftware surprised just about everyone during Nintendo’s recent Switch 2 Direct. Not only did they announce Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, but they revealed a brand new Switch 2 exclusive game called The Duskbloods. The Duskbloods is more of a multiplayer game instead of the single-player games that they like to do and has been a major reason behind the company’s recent success.
Fortunately, the company has reassured fans that this multiplayer game is not going to be the norm going forward. Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed in a new video of the Nintendo Creator’s Voice series that “as previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn’t mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single-player-focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style”.
