Celebrity MasterChef confirms sacked Johh Torode's episodes WILL air
by LUCY MURGATROYD, TV REPORTER · Mail OnlineThe BBC has confirmed that sacked MasterChef judge John Tordoe WILL feature in the upcoming series of Celebrity MasterChef.
The celebrity version of the much-loved cooking show is set to return to BBC1 after filming for its 20th series earlier this year.
New judge Grace Dent, 52, and John Torode, 60, will appear on our screens alongside a selection of very famous faces.
Torode was sacked in the summer in the wake of an allegation against him using 'an extremely offensive racist term' was upheld.
John said he has 'no recollection' of the incident.
The BBC revealed that while it had not been a 'straightforward decision,' every celebrity contestant and guest featured in the upcoming series involved had given their blessing for the series to air.
'Banijay UK has consulted the celebrities, contestants and guests featured and all have confirmed that they are happy for the shows to be aired,' a BBC spokesperson said.
'As we have said previously, these are not straightforward decisions. We have approached this with care and consideration for all involved and we appreciate not everyone will agree with us.
'Five weeks of extraordinary challenges await, where the judges will oversee this culinary competition that will push the 15 celebrities beyond the comfort of their showbiz jobs.
'Acting the part won’t cut the mustard and singing for your supper will not equal success.
'The only thing guaranteed is that just one of them will be left standing at the end, where their sparkling career will lead them to the shiny prize - the iconic Celebrity MasterChef trophy.'
