Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet break strict no-social-media rule
by DEIRDRE DURKAN-SIMONDS, US ASSOCIATE SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR · Mail OnlineKylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet took a meaningful step in their relationship, that sent fans into a frenzy, over the weekend.
The couple subtly put their long-standing no-social-media boundary to the test after Jenner supported Chalamet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where he was honored for his latest role in Marty Supreme.
Following the Saturday night ceremony, Jenner shared photos of her Marty Supreme-inspired look on Instagram, showing off an orange sequined Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown.
She captioned the post simply with orange heart emojis, a nod to the film's press-tour color theme.
Chalamet responded in kind by 'liking' the post and leaving several orange heart emojis in the comments.
The interaction marked the first time the pair have publicly commented on one another's social media accounts. Until now, they had only exchanged discreet likes.
Fans immediately flooded the comments with excitement.
'Omgggg,' one person wrote, while another asked, 'when is the wedding.'

Others added, 'we've waited so long to see this,' 'YOU COULDN'T RESIST HUH?! PUT A RING ON IT MISTERR,' and 'first time seeing them interact on social media.'
The online moment followed Jenner being spotted looking adoringly at Chalamet as he delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech during the festival.
The 30-year-old actor received the Spotlight Actor of the Year Award for his portrayal of table tennis legend Marty Reisman in the A24 film Marty Supreme.
While accepting the honor, Chalamet said: 'Every day, to wake up in good health and have the opportunity to create things for the world is truly a gift.'
Jenner, 28, watched from his table, cheering him on throughout the speech. She later shared a closer look at her dazzling gown, which featured a bold neckline highlighting her figure.
After the ceremony, Chalamet posted a carousel of photos from the weekend, including snaps with his award, moments from his December 27 birthday celebrations, and a sweet image with his mother. He captioned the post: 'HAVING SO MUCH FUN.'
Marty Supreme is a biopic inspired by the life of ping-pong icon Marty Reisman, set in the 1950s.
Chalamet stars as a fictionalized version of the table tennis prodigy as he chases his dream of becoming a champion.
In addition to leading the film, the actor also serves as a co-producer alongside director Josh Safdie.
Jenner's mother, Kris Jenner, recently gave Chalamet a rare public shoutout.
The Kardashian-Jenner matriarch took to her Instagram Story the day after Christmas to praise the film, sharing a photo of a red Marty Supreme zip-up hoodie and writing over it: 'Greatest movie ever!!!' while tagging the actor.
Just one day earlier, Kris, 70, posted a Christmas Day photo of herself wearing a blue version of the jacket to celebrate the film's premiere.
The sports dramedy has since received strong reviews and outperformed expectations with its Christmas Day opening.
Jenner and Chalamet have been linked since early 2023 and have kept their romance notably private.
Despite never posting each other on social media, reportedly because Chalamet prefers to keep his personal life separate from his work, the pair have attended several awards shows together and have walked the red carpet side by side only a handful of times.
Their relationship appeared stronger than ever last month, as Jenner joined Chalamet on the Marty Supreme press tour in December.
The duo even wore coordinated orange looks to the Los Angeles premiere.
Earlier this month, fans also caught a glimpse of Chalamet's presence at the Kardashian-Jenner family's famously lavish Christmas Eve celebration.
When outtakes from the 2025 party circulated online, eagle-eyed observers spotted his name written on a gingerbread house.
In August, a source told Us Weekly that Chalamet went out of his way to make Jenner feel special while the couple spent her birthday apart.
'Timothée went out of his way to make her feel special on her birthday,' the source said, adding that he sent gifts, scheduled a FaceTime call, and coordinated thoughtful surprises with her friends.
