The Traitors star Charlotte Berman is pregnant after fertility battle
by KIRSTEN MURRAY, SHOWBUSINESS REPORTER · Mail OnlineThe Traitors star Charlotte Berman has shared the happy news she is expecting her first child with her husband Alexander.
The PR guru from Hampshire famously put on a fake Welsh accent during her time on The Traitors at the start of the year.
And while she didn't win the show, Charlotte revealed she would have spent the prize money on IVF after experiencing her own fertility struggles.
Now taking to Instagram on New Year's Eve Charlotte looked back on an incredible year and shared how 2026 is going to be even more exciting as her and Alexander prepare to welcome their first child.
She penned: 'WELL. 2025 began with *that* Welsh accent and the most insane experience on the Traitors.
'It’s been wild And it’s ending with the biggest adventure on the horizon…✨ A little festive round-up and to share that we hope very much to meet a little one this spring… quietly excited, one day very much at a time'.
Charlotte was deemed by many as an 'evil genius' deserving of respect for her services to the Traitorhood while on the BBC show.
She painted herself as a sunny character from Wales, quickly forming friendships throughout the series helped by her 'trusting accent'.
Despite being a Faithful for most of the series, she was later recruited and viewers saw an entirely new side to Charlotte with her 'web of lies', dastardly schemes and duplicitous tactics for betraying her fellow Traitors.
However it was game over for her in the final when the other four remaining players voted her out and she was banished.
Asked what she would use the prize money on if she won, prior to the final, she said: 'Firstly I really want to go on a safari holiday, and then the second thing is, slight trouble with having a baby so want to put some money towards that.
She then joked: 'But maybe the safari holiday will negate the need.'
Ahead of the final, Charlotte admitted that keeping up the fake accent had been 'exhausting' and she might have 'permanently rewired her brain'.
She said: 'I have learned that if I ever do another TV show, I probably, most definitely, won't do it with a fake Welsh accent. It has been exhausting, and I think I may have permanently rewired my brain. But perhaps it has paid off after all?!'
Charlotte continued: 'But seriously, behind the chatty façade I am quite a self-doubter and this whole experience has been something I'm truly proud of myself for.
'I've built genuine relationships with the other players and been able to show people my true self - even within a game of deception.
'I'm proud of my resilience when I've defended myself at the Round Table and really tried to play the game in its truest sense.'
Charlotte is known to be a big fan of the show, and had applied to go on the second series, but hadn't heard back.
She said: 'I applied to go on series two after series one as I was such a fan from the very beginning! But I didn't hear anything back. I think series two benefited from everyone really understanding and playing the game.
'What I love is not only the main game, which is amazing, but all the undercurrents of secrets - I gasped when the Diane/Ross connection was revealed! It's just such a great show.'
