Adele makes her first public appearance in 6 months at US Grand Prix

Adele put on a radiant display on Sunday as she made a very rare public appearance at the United States Grand Prix, after taking an extended break away from the spotlight following her Las Vegas residency.

The singer, 37, was snapped in the pit lane with the Mercedes AMG Formula One team as she toured the garage in Austin, Texas.

Adele displayed her toned figure and incredible weight loss in a black button-up shirt and matching trousers, as she posed for a beaming snap alongside Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.

It marks her first appearance at a public event in six months, after she was last snapped in April at an NBA game in Los Angeles with her fiancé Rich Paul.

While there's been a few fan sightings of the Hello hitmaker in recent months - enjoying a quiet dinner in Beverly Hills and out with a group of girlfriends at a cocktail bar in Las Vegas - Adele has kept a relatively low profile in 2025.

She is currently taking an extended hiatus from work after wrapping up her hugely successful two-year Las Vegas residency, Weekends With Adele, in November last year.

Earlier this month, sources close to Adele told the Daily Mail that the songstress has 'purposefully' been keeping a 'strict' low profile for some time 'more than ever before'.

They said: 'This is not new that she's keeping her private life separate, she has a right to one, but it does have to be said that more than ever before she is going the extra mile to be strict about what she lets people see.

'It's very different from last time, she's purposefully keeping the public at bay.'

While they also revealed another reason for Adele's recent disappearance from the public eye, telling the Daily Mail that she is busy studying for a degree in English Literature - in line with her pre-fame ambition to become a teacher.

In her final residency concert, she admitted to the crowd she didn't have any upcoming plans, quipping: 'I'm not doing anything else. I'm actually s****ing myself about what I'm going to do. I don't have any f***ing plans. I guess I'll just day-drink.'

While the Someone Like You star also confessed that she was unsure when she would return with new music or ever go back on tour, saying: 'I just don't know when I want to next come on stage.

'And it's time to move on. It's time for the next chapter and it's time for the next season of my life.'

Declaring her need for a break, Adele tearfully told fans at a Munich concert last August: 'I will not see you for an incredibly long time. I just need a rest, I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.'

While she also hinted her break was motivated by her hatred of fame, admitting to German broadcaster ZDF that she 'missed being anonymous'.

She said: 'My tank is quite empty at the minute. I don't have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while. You know, I don't even sing at home at all. How strange is that?

'The fame side of it, I absolutely hate and I miss everything about before all of this had happened. I miss everything about before I was famous, but I probably miss being anonymous the most.'

The multi-Grammy winner has also spoken of her desire to have a second child - preferably a daughter – after wrapping up her residencies.

Speaking on stage at Caesars Palace in May 2024, Adele told the delighted crowd 'Once I'm done with all of my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby

'And I want to have a girl because I've already got a boy. I feel like she might be the person I love the most in the world and I'll probably hate the most in the world as well. She's going to put me in my place all the time, isn't she?'

The Easy On Me star quipped that any new baby was going to inherit a fierce personality from her parents, adding: 'With me as her mother and Rich as her father, my daughter's going to be a bossy little queen, isn't she?'

Rich already has three children - Reonna, Richie, and Zane - from a prior relationship, but has also hinted at wanting more, telling an interviewer in 2022 that he was 'looking forward to being a different dad, a more patient dad'.
