Liam Gallagher confirms he's been lined up for next Celebrity Traitors
by Jess Lester · Mail OnlineOasis's Liam Gallagher has confirmed he's being lined up for the second series of Celebrity Traitors by BBC bosses - leaving fans over the moon.
The singer took to social media to casually reveal he had been approached to be part of the star-studded line-up, ahead of its return to screens later this year.
Celebrity Traitors debuted on the BBC last year with record-breaking viewing numbers, with nearly 12 million fans tuning in to watch the tense finale.
It was confirmed to be returning shortly after series one came to an end, with the broadcaster scouting out new famous faces to take part.
Now, Liam, 53, admitted he was among the stars approached - taking to X, formerly Twitter, to confirm he was being lined up, sending fans into a frenzy.
One fan penned to Liam on the social media platform: 'Liam would you go on The Traitors if they asked?' to which he replied: 'I've been asked.'
Replying to the admission, fans flooded the comments section, with one writing: 'You'd bring so many viewers!'
Another chimed in: 'WELL DO IT. What's holding you back, don't be boring,' as a third agreed: 'Omg, you got to do it.'
'You'd make a great Traitor,' someone else penned.
It comes after it was revealed Danny Dyer is reportedly set to appear in the next Celebrity Traitors in a 'dream signing' for the BBC after turning down the chance to compete in the hit show's first series.
The former EastEnders actor, 48, had 'zero interest' in the series before 'changing his tune' after watching the likes of eventual winner Alan Carr take the nation by storm.
A source said: 'Danny was always top of The Celebrity Traitors wish list but had zero interest until seeing the fun and games last autumn. As soon as his tune changed, it was all systems go'.
'Danny is a reality TV booker's dream signing and will be incredible value, as he's naturally funny but in a totally different way to Alan Carr'.
The actor joins other famous names who are being line-up to head to the highlands including Alison Hammond and Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones.
However the BBC are said to be hoping that Danny won't pull out at the last minute like last year's contestant Daisy May Cooper over her commitments to her family.
The source told The Sun: 'Bosses don't want to repeat the same formula and he'll be absolute gold. As we saw with Daisy May Cooper for series one, things can change at the last minute, but Danny looks all set to join filming up in the Highlands later this year.'
The Daily Mail have contacted Danny Dyer's representative for comment.
Meanwhile a BBC spokesman said: 'We're not commenting on speculation but details about series two of The Celebrity Traitors will be announced in due course.'
Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the ultimate game of deception has been captivating audiences since its 2022 debut.
Players taking part must adhere to a specific set of rules during their time in the castle.
Although some relate to what happens off-camera, others are directly connected to what happens in the game.
If any of these are broken, the cast members could face huge consequences as a result.
The contracts the stars sign span their time in the castle and the months before the transmission of the series, and once filming has wrapped, ensuring no spoilers derail the show.
Some rules include no mobile phones, no access to the time and not being informed of their sleeping arrangements.
Players may spend all day filming in Ardross Castle, located in the Scottish Highlands - but they don't spend the night there.
Traitors are also not allowed to reveal fellow Traitors by exposing their own identity and the contestants must not reveal show secrets prior to airing - having signed NDAs.
The first Celebrity Traitors saw Alan Carr come out victorious as he went undetected throughout the game.
An average audience of 11.1 million tuned in for the grand finale that saw Traitor Alan, 49, hoodwink Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga into believing he was a Faithful.

With a peak of 12 million viewers, it was the BBC's biggest overnight audience since Gavin & Stacey's Christmas special last year.
Viewers watched in awe and bewilderment as Alan snatched the £87,500 prize, despite his previous claims he was as bad a Traitor as series three star Linda Rands.
Alan's surprise win came as a result of Nick, 45, and David, 55, turning on fellow Faithful Joe Marler at the last minute in a shock twist that left viewers reeling.
Despite Joe, 35, correctly guessing that Alan and Cat Burns, 25, were the remaining Traitors, he failed to convince the others and found himself being banished at the last minute.
