The Masked Singer was left in disarray after an axed diva celebrity stormed offstage without revealing their identity.

During the recording of one of the shows one hidden star was reportedly being voted out of the competition before things took a chaotic turn, according to the Sun.

After being kicked off the show, the celebrity was reportedly so unhappy that they stormed off and did not reveal their identity to the audience.

The actual identity of the star has not been revealed, but viewers will see the drama unfold as they watch the Pufferfish, Bear, Toad in the Hole, Wolf and Bush battle it out.

And one audience member, who dubbed the whole experience 'bonkers', told The Sun: 'Usually the celeb with the lowest votes takes off their mask and then chats to the panel and sings again.

'But instead this character turned around and shuffled off stage, which was hilarious in their costume obviously — but we were all stunned.

'We knew something was going on because we saw lots of to-ing and fro-ing with crew before the person eventually came back on stage.

While the celebrity's name has not yet been revealed, many viewers have speculated some names, including Jamie Lynn Spears, Michael Sheen, Macy Gray, Marti Pellow and Patrick Stewart.

Throughout the show's history, no celebrity has ever reacted so poorly and so it took show producers by shock.

It was reported that the producers scrambled behind the scenes to encourage the celebrity to finish the show, while the host Joel Dommett attempted damage control with the audience.

The source said: 'The celebrity was basically gutted and upset to be leaving the competition so soon.'

MailOnline contacted ITV for a comment.

It comes after show host Joel revealed the return of the Masked Singer 'has got weirder' as he said new show judge Maya Jama 'lives a really ridiculous life'.

The show host, 39, said viewers should brace themselves for 'twists and turns', according to Principle Magazine.

Series three, which starteds on Saturday, January, 4, 2025 at 7pm on ITV1, also sees Maya's debut as a panellist on the show.

The Love Island host, 30, has said to have taken the role in her stride, something which Joel accredits to her already 'ridiculous lifestyle'.

Speaking to the publication, Joel said: 'It's getting weirder. I think it's getting odder and odder. And if you thought it was weird before, it's getting even more strange. And also we're getting more confident as a production.

'We're putting in more twists and turns and interesting elements to it that you wouldn't necessarily expect with the format.

'It's just fun and we're really enjoying it, but production certainly is letting me do pretty much whatever I want.'

Joel also revealed that any 'mad idea' he gets, production has allowed him to go through with it.

He added: 'There is an amazing reveal in this series that is gonna be my favorite reveal for ever, I think. One of the characters gets voted off and they are really not happy about it. Like genuinely.

'They were really upset that they did not win it. There's something hilarious about seeing someone in a massive costume storm off.

'What they're gonna show of it, I have no idea. But even if they don't show it, I know, and that's amazing.

He also revealed that Maya's time on the show had been plain sailing, something which he credits to her already 'mad life' spent on private yachts and planes.

'She's great. She fit right in immediately. It's a weird show to come in on. When you're there in the flesh, it's so hard. It can flummox a lot of people but she was brilliant. She took it all in her stride. That's the thing.

'Maya Jama lives a mad life with lots of private yachts and planes and rappers. She lives a really ridiculous life. She's slotted into this perfectly.

'If anything, when she's sat behind the panel watching a massive version of me dancing and singing 'Hello' from Lionel Richie, she's just like, 'Oh, this is more normal than my ridiculous life'.'
